Volleyball's Davenport Receives AAC Honorable Mention

IRVING, Texas – On Monday, graduate student Taylor Davenport earned her second American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention of the season and third overall weekly plaudit for her play during last weekend's matches against East Carolina and Charlotte.
 
The Columbia, S.C. native tied for the Owls lead last weekend with 25 kills while averaging 4.17 kills per set. Starting on Friday, the outside hitter was one point shy of double-figure kills, but it was Sunday's match where Davenport shined. The TU veteran had a match-high 16 kills and averaged 5.33 kills per set, leading the Cherry and White to their second AAC win of the season.
 
The Owls will be in action three times this week, starting with a non-conference road match at Rider on Wednesday but will be back at home in McGonigle Hall on Friday and Sunday with matches against UTSA (6 PM) and Rice (1 PM), respectively. Both of those matches will be available on ESPN+.
