CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – The No. 19 Temple field hockey team and the Villanova Wildcats played evenly for more than 50 minutes, but a five minute stretch in the third quarter allowed the Wildcats to come away with a 3-0 win in BIG EAST action on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Defense dominated the first half of the game as chances in the circle were few and far between for both sides. The Owls generated the only four shots of the half in the final two minutes of the second quarter on a series of penalty corners.
- After TU came out with the offensive jump in the third quarter, Villanova turned the game around with a pair of goals in a five minute stretch.
- The Wildcats added a goal late in the fourth against an empty net after Temple pulled its keeper in favor of an extra attacker.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Owls generated an advantage in corners and shots, but Villanova was able block several of them before they could get through to the goalie.
