Maes Scores Twice As Owls Win Fifth Straight

PHILADELPHIA – Alize Maes scored her second goal of the contest with less than four minutes remaining in double overtime as the Temple field hockey team won its fifth game in a row, downing the Wagner Seahawks 2-1.

- For Maes, the goals were her third and fourth of the season.
- Mathea Lassalle and Agustina Tucceri each posted an assist on the day.
- The Owls held a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal including 5-1in overtime.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the game knotted at 1-1 more than halfway through the second overtime period, Tucceri drove a ball from just inside midfield. The ball skipped and found its way onto Maes stick where she smacked it home for the 2-1 win.
- It was the Seahawks who got on the board first, scoring the initial goal of the game with les than a minute left in the first quarter.
- Maes tied the score off a penalty corner four minutes into the second period. Late in the first half, Isabella Ospitale came up with two solid saves to keep the game level into the break.
