Women’s Tennis Gears Up for ITA Northeast Regionals

PHILADELPHIA - This weekend, Oct. 10-15, the Temple women's tennis team is gearing up for the ITA Women's Northeast Regional hosted by University of Pennsylvania at Hamlin Outdoor Tennis Center.
Temple is sending ten Owls and the maximum number of entries to the city to participate in the tournament. In singles, Thamara Frasser Kawaratani and Kelly Richter will compete in the main draw, while Jessie Zheng, Maria Wang Martinez, Marianthi Christoforidou, Nina Andreoni, and Shevita Aulana will enter the singles qualifying rounds.
In doubles, Aditi Vaidya will pair with Jessie Zheng, Kelly Richter with Irmak Ozturk, Shevita Aulana with Maria Wang Martinez, Nina Andreoni with Martyna Mackiewicz, and Thamara Frasser Kawaratani with Marianthi Christoforidou as they compete in the main draw.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls return to action on Oct. 25 for the Drexel Invitational in West Philadelphia. Tournament play will begin Friday and close Sunday.

- Thamara Frasser Kawaratani: Started the season of fall 2024 with multiple wins, including a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Drexel's Paulina Jurkowska, and finishing with a strong 4-1 record at the Cissie Leary Invitational.
- Shevita Aulana: Started her first season as an Owl in the fall 2024 with multiple wins, including standout singles victories against Delaware's Sia Mahajan (6-4, 4-6, 10-3) and Drexel's Rebecca Fiedler (6-0, 7-6(1)), finishing with a 3-3 record at the Cissie Leary Invitational.
