Track & Field Travels to Boston for David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. — The Temple Track & Field team is set to continue its indoor season this weekend at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The two-day event will take place at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The invitational will feature 17 events on Friday, February 9, before 16 more events on Saturday. Day 1 will feature all women's events minus the men's distance medley relay and Day 2 will feature all men's events minus the women's distance medley relay.
Last Time Out
- The Owls competed at the Scarlet Knight Open at The Armory, the team's third consecutive competition in New York.
- In the high jump, Amira Green won the event at 1.70 meters (5-07) and Nicole Castor placed fifth at 1.65 meters (5-05).
- In the 3,000 meters, Elsa Chan set a new personal record of 9:55.26 and placed sixth out of 43 competitors in the event.
- Fiona Carter competed well in the women's pentathlon, placing third with 3116 points.
- Inara Shell (5.64 meters), Obiamaka Igwenagu (5.60 meters), and Reagan Schwartz (5.41 meters) placed highly in the long jump. In the triple jump, Igwenagu won the college women's division with a jump of 12.54 meters.

Up Next
Next up for the Owls, the team will travel to Staten Island, New York, for the FastTrack Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Feb. 10. This will conclude the indoor track regular season, before Temple competes at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
