Golf Finishes Fourth Overall at ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE N.C.- The Owls placed fourth at the ECU Intercollegiate after shooting a 16-over, 304 in the final day. They finished 32-over for the tournament. This is the team's third Top 5 finish of the year and first of the spring season. Graham Chase led the way for the Owls, shooting an even par 72 in all three rounds to tie for third overall in the 90-player field.

Recapping the Day

The Owls stayed hot on the par 3s in the final day, leading the field with a 3.23 average (14-over).
Chase led the Owls with his even-par tournament. Chase went a combined six-under on par 5s, which placed as third best of the field. His final round consisted of five birdies, including two in the final three holes.
Junior Ethan Whitney notched his fourth top-20 finish of the season, finishing in a tie for 16^th. He carded a seven-over, 228 in his two days. He was the only Owl to break 70 shooting a 69 in round two.
Junior Michael Walsh placed 30^th overall with the help of his two-over round of 74 in the final day. He tied for third in the field in par three average, going one-over.
Joey Morganti carded a score of 17-over par while Matthew Vital rounded out the starters with his score of 20-over.
Jake Naese and Andrew Curran both made their spring debut as individuals. Naese place t-41^st with a score of 16-over while Curran shot 23-over, placing t-69^th.

The Field

Tournament host took the crown on their home turf, shooting a combined 15-over par. This was not without the surge of UCF who carded a combined score of one-under in the final day, helping them finish runner-up.
Hans Risvaer won the individual scoring with the help of his consecutive rounds of 69 in the final two rounds. He shot a three-under, 213.
