Crew Set to Start Season at Michael Quinn Cup

MARIETTA, Ohio - The No. 23 Temple University men's crew team gets its spring season underway, traveling to southeast Ohio, taking on Marietta and Mercyhurst in the Michael Quinn Cup.

Getting Noticed
Thanks to its strong end to last season and its performance during the fall, Temple begins the season ranked No. 23 in the preseason IRCA/IRA coaches poll.

About the Michael Quinn Cup
Mike Quinn, who rowed for the Owls from 1981-1984, was a member of the 1983 and 1984 teams that won the program's first two Dad Vail Varsity Eight championships. He also competed with the 1980 US Junior National Team 8+ and the 1984 US Men's Lightweight 8+ team.

About the Opposition
The Pioneers are racing on their home course on the Muskingum River after taking down Adrian in the V8+ last weekend. Mercyhurst is in action for the first time during the spring season. The Lakers last competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta in November.

Up Next
Temple is back in action next Saturday, March 30 when it travels to Lake Carnegie to square off against Princeton, Georgetown and Drexel.
