Women’s Track & Field Heads to New Jersey for Sam Howell Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. — The Temple Women's Track & Field program is set to continue its 2024 outdoor season at the Sam Howell Invite on Saturday, March 30 in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Owls are set to send 15 athletes to compete across eight events.
Last Time Out
> Last weekend, Temple endured rainy conditions at the Penn Challenge at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The Owls totaled seven top-five placements and four personal records.
> In the 400 meters, Jade Pope took first place with a time of 57.21.
> The Owls saw another solid group performance in the pole vault, with Allie Riches leading the way at 3.91 meters (12-10), placing second.
> Allyson Metzger placed fourth in the 100 meters, clocking a new personal-best time in the event.
> In the 3,000 meters, Elsa Chan placed fifth with a time of 10:00.77. The mark is an outdoor personal record.
Previewing the Owls
> In the sprints, the trio of Nya Browne, Terren Bolton, and Allyson Metzger will race in both the 100- and 200-meter sprints. Jade Pope will also compete in the 200. Temple's 400-meter competitors will consist of Pope, Laila Cottom, and Eyota Bey.
> Dominyka Petraskaite will represent Temple in the 800 meters.
> In high jump, Amira Green and Nicole Castor will compete for the Owls.
> Temple's pole vault group of Allie Riches, Cierra Crane, Aliza White Vega, and Reece Sullivan will take on the competition.
> Inara Shell and Obiamaka Igwenagu will compete in both long and triple jump.

Following this weekend's action, Temple is set to return to Philadelphia to compete in the Big 5 Invitational at Franklin Field in University City. The invite is scheduled for April 6.
