Stanford Records Career-High Scoring Total Against UAB

3.7.24 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIAZion Stanford had his best offensive game since December, but the Temple men's basketball team was downed by the UAB Blazers 100-72 on Thursday night.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Stanford topped the Owls with a career-high 20 points, going 6-for-8 from the floor.
  • Jahlil White netted 11 with a team-high five rebounds.
  • Shane Dezonie and Hysier Miller each scored eight.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The teams played a close game early on as neither squad held more than a three-point lead through the second media timeout. TU got a spark from the bench as Shane Dezonie and Jahlil White scored nine points in a span of four minutes to push the Owls up 19-15 at the 9:53 mark of the frame. The Blazers responded with a 9-0 run, opening their largest lead of the night less than three minutes later.
  • Temple broke the span on a basket by Stanford, who scored the next seven points for the Owls. UAB got hot from the field, however, connecting on six shots in a row, taking a 47-32 lead into the break.
  • TU shot well in the second half, connecting on 56.5 percent (13-for-23) of its shots, including four three-pointers, but UAB could not miss as the Blazers pulled away down the stretch.
