Men's Tennis to Play Drexel, Hofstra, and Hampton on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday's Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple Men's Tennis team (5-10) will undergo a hefty string of matches, with two at the Hamlin Tennis Courts this week. First, the Owls will travel to the Buckley Tennis Courts to take on the Drexel University Dragons (10-6) on Thursday, April 4 at 11 a.m. Two days later on Saturday, April 6, Temple will face the Hofstra University Pride (6-9) at 4 p.m. The following morning, Sunday, April 7, at 9 a.m, the Cherry and White will host the Hampton University Pirates (2-11). Sunday's match marks Senior Day, in which the Owls will commemorate senior Gregoire Barety for his dedication to the program.
THE OWLS
- The Cherry and White enter their second three-match week after two weeks without matches. Prior to its break, Temple came up short against Penn and Bucknell.
- Adam Kresina, a first-year Owl, has led the team in singles throughout the season. He enters the week with eight dual match victories.
- Dante Russo and Pranav Nemani hold the most doubles wins with a total of three.
- In the fall, Temple sent two student-athletes to Tulsa, OK to participate in the ITA-All American Championship Tournament: Gregoire Barety and Dante Russo.
- As a team, the Owls kept busy in the fall. They participated in the Penn Invite playing the likes of the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Liberty from Sept. 15-17, the ITA All-American Championship Tournament in Oklahoma from Oct. 1-3, and both Navy Invitationals from Oct. 15-17 and Nov. 9-11.Scouting Norfolk State
Scouting the Dragons
- Drexel has earned 10 wins and fell to six opponents throughout the season. The Dragon's will enter the match off of a 4-0 loss to UNCW.
- Alex De Sousa leads the team in singles, achieving 11 in dual matches.
- De Sousa and Alan Jesudason lead Drexel's doubles as the duo has tabbed 11. The tandem was named CAA Doubles Team of the Week in January.
Scouting the Pride
- The Pride has topped six opponents and lost to nine coming into April. Hofstra is set to enter Saturday's match off of two consecutives wins in which the team upended Adelphi, 5-2, and dominated Wagner, 7-0.
- Ostap Kovalenko has earned eight singles victories for the Pride.
Scouting the Pirates
- Hampton has lost 11 matches this season. The Pirates have won two matches against Mount St. Mary's, 5-2, and Warner University, 5-2.
- Prior to traveling to the Hamlin Tennis Courts, Hampton will host St. Joseph's on Friday, April 5.
