Women’s Basketball Signs Amaya Oliver to 2024-25 Roster

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Women's Basketball Head Coach Diane Richardson announced that Loyola Marymount forward Amaya Oliver will join the Owls roster for the 2024-25 season.
"Amaya brings a skill that compliments our style of play," Richardson said. "Her IQ and experience at a high level will be a great asset."
The Richmond, California native spent two seasons at Loyola Marymount after transferring from USC following her first two years of collegiate play. During the 2023-24 season, Oliver started all 30 games for the Lions, averaging 9.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. She shot 52 percent from the field and also had a strong presence on defense, totaling 25 blocks. During her junior year, Oliver started in six games and played in 29, averaging 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
The 2023-24 season was a successful one for Oliver, who tallied a career-high 19 points in a matchup at Montana where she shot 9-for-13 from the field. She scored in double figures 15 times during the season and totaled double-digit rebounding in four games, three of which came in double-double performances.
At USC, Oliver led the Pac-12 in offensive rebounds during the 2020 season. She earned freshman honorable mention that same season. She scored in double figures in three games and started off her collegiate career with a 17-point, 16-rebound performance against Loyola Marymount.
