Women’s Track & Field Competes at Penn Invitational

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple Women's Track & Field program stayed close to home this weekend, competing at the Penn Invitational at Franklin Field on a windy Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6.
The Owls tallied six top-10 finishes in their respective events, with Amira Green and Inara Shell highlighting the day with podium finishes in field events.
How it happened
> Inara Shell hauled leaped 5.88 meters (19-3.5) in the long jump to place second overall in the event.
> Temple's high jump duo of Amira Green and Nicole Castor took top-10 placements once again. Green led the way with a third-place finish at 1.65 meters (5-05) and Castor placed seventh at 1.60 meters (5-03).
> In the pole vault, Cierra Crane tied an outdoor personal record with a height of 3.81 meters (12-06) to place fourth. Aliza White Vega also tied an outdoor personal record at 3.66 meters (12-0) to place seventh.
> Nya Browne clocked in at 14.68 in the 100-meter hurdles to place fifth. Her time is a new outdoor personal record.
> In the 800 meters, Dominyka Petraskaite placed 10th with a time of 2:20.47.
> Allyson Metzger placed 11th in the 200 meters (25.60) and 13th in the 100 meters (12.50).

Next up on Temple's schedule, the Owls will return to New Jersey to compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton. The two-day event begins on April 12 and concludes on April 13.
