Women’s Track & Field Competes at Larry Ellis Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. — The Temple Women's Track & Field program traveled to Princeton, New Jersey for the Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend.
The Owls saw 11 athletes compete at the event, taking home a total of five top-five finishes. Three athletes set new outdoor personal records, including two new records from Allyson Metzger. Cierra Crane had a stellar showing in the pole vault, moving up Temple's record book as the second best outdoor pole vaulter in program history.
How It Happened
> Cierra Crane led the Owls with a standout performance in the pole vault, setting a new personal record with a height of 3.95 meters (12-11.5) — she placed third in the event. Crane's height makes her the No. 2 all-time pole vaulter in program history, behind teammate Allie Riches.
> Temple's high jump duo of Amira Green and Nicole Castor performed admirably, as Green took second place with a jump of 1.68 meters (5-06) and Castor placed fourth at 1.63 meters (5-4.25).
> In the 100-meter hurdles, Nya Browne placed third overall with a time of 14.78.
> Metzger led the way in sprints for the Owls, placing 10th in the 100 meters with a personal-record time of 12.33. She also set a new personal record in the 200 meters, clocking in at 25.10 and placing 13th.
> In the triple jump, Inara Shell placed third overall with a leap of 12.29 meters (40-04). Obiamaka Igwenagu was just behind in fourth at 12.25 meters (40-2.25). Igwenagu jumped 5.52 meters (18-1.5) in the long jump to place eighth, and Shell placed 10th at 5.45 meters (17-10.75).
> In the steeplechase, Elsa Chan set a new personal record with a time of 10:56.04. She placed 10th overall in the event.
