Women’s Track Competes at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Temple Women's Track & Field program concluded a productive weekend in Charlottesville at the Virginia Challenge.
 

 

The Owls faced stiff competition and saw five top-10 finishes across the array of events at the two-day meet at Lannigan Field.
 

How it Happened
 

> In the triple jump, Temple's duo of Obiamaka Igwenagu and Inara Shell performed admirably. Igwenagu placed sixth with a leap of 12.40 meters (40-8.25) and Shell took eighth with a score of 12.34 meters (40-06).
 

> In the high jump, Amira Green placed seventh in the invite division with a jump of 1.72 meters (5-7.75). Nicole Castor placed second in the open high jump at 1.64 meters (5-4.5).
 

> Aliza White Vega placed fifth in the open pole vault at a height of 3.59 meters (11-9.25).

Next up on the Owls' outdoor schedule, Temple will return to Philadelphia for the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field. The event begins on April 25 and concludes on April 27.
