Women’s Track & Field to Compete at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA — The time of year has come for the Temple Women's Track & Field program to compete in the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia at Franklin Field on the campus on the University of Pennsylvania.
The Owls will be represented by 12 athletes, competing across seven events. The three-day competition marks the 128th consecutive running of the Penn Relays.
Last Time Out
> In the triple jump, Temple's duo of Obiamaka Igwenagu and Inara Shell performed admirably. Igwenagu placed sixth with a leap of 12.40 meters (40-8.25) and Shell took eighth with a score of 12.34 meters (40-06).
> In the high jump, Amira Green placed seventh in the invite division with a jump of 1.72 meters (5-7.75). Nicole Castor placed second in the open high jump at 1.64 meters (5-4.5).
> Aliza White Vega placed fifth in the open pole vault at a height of 3.59 meters (11-9.25).
Previewing the Owls
> Elsa Chan will get things started on Thursday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
> Shell and Igwenagu will both compete for the Cherry & White in triple jump. Shell will also represent Temple in the long jump.
> Amira Green and Nicole Castor are set to compete in the high jump.
> In pole vault, the Owls will see Cierra Crane and Aliza White Vega compete.
> Temple will race in the 4x200 meter relay, which will consist of Jade Pope, Nya Browne, Allyson Metzger, Eyota Bey, and Laila Cottom. The same group will also represent the Owls in the 4x400 meter relay.

2:30 p.m. — College Women's Triple Jump Championship (Inara Shell)
5:55 p.m. — College Women's 4x400 Eastern (Finals)

Up Next
Following the conclusion of the outdoor regular season, the Owls will now shift gears and prepare for the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships take place from May 10-12 at Park West Athletic Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
