Emmerich Finishes T-9th as Owls Place Eighth at Princeton Invitational

Results

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Temple Men's Golf team wrapped up the Princeton Invitational today, finishing in eighth place overall. The team shot a combined 30-over par for the two-day, three-round tournament. They shot a 294 in the final day of the competition. Sophomore Aidan Emmerich had an impressive weekend, finishing tied for ninth overall.

Recapping the Round

Emmerich shot a one-over, 214 over the course of two days. He shot an even-par 71 on the final day. The par fours benefitted the sophomore greatly as he shot three-under on them, good for third best of the field. This is Emmerich's fifth top-10 finish of the season, the most on the team.
Graham Chase and Ethan Whitney both finished in a tie for 32^nd. They both shot a nine-over 222 for the weekend. Chase's 66 in round two was the lowest single-round score for the Owls. Whitney's four birdie, final round led the team in the final day.
Joey Morganti finished tied for 44^th. His one-over round of 72 today was the second best on the team behind Emmerich.
Michael Walsh carded a 20-over, 233 and finished tied for 58^th overall.

The Field

Tournament host, Princeton rallied behind their nine-under final day to take first place in the tournament.
Princeton's Ricardo Fantinelli and Howard's Everett Whiten Jr. tied for the individual champion, both carding a weekend score of six-under par. Fantinelli's 65 in the final day was the low score in the field.

Up Next

The Owls will head to University Park, PA to compete in the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State on April 13-14. The tournament will be played at Penn State Golf Course.
