Milne Named Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area

PHILADELPHIA - Amarna Milne of the Temple women's rowing team has been named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team as announced by the organization on Wednesday.Â
To be eligible, student-athletes must have attained sophomore status or higher with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30. The award is voted on by members of the sports information staffs of the 30 schools from the Philadelphia region.Â
Milne was selected Second Team All-AACÂ and was a part of the Owls V8+ that won the Kelly Cup for the first time since 2006. A member of the Varsity 8+ in six races during the spring, she also helped Temple to a win at the George Washington Invite, leading to the V8+ being named AAC Boat of the Week on April 16.Â
In the classroom, the Oxford, England native has a 3.91 GPA as a junior media and communications major with a certificate in sports marketing.
