HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The Temple golf team begins the 2024-25 season on Monday, Sept. 16, as they trek to North Carolina for the Fall Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by N.C. State. The 54-hole competition will take place at The Club at 12 Oaks, a Jack Nicklaus-designed, 7,105-yard, par-72 course. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and conclude the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Pre-Tournament Thoughts from Coach Quinn
"We look forward to competing at N.C. State. I'm excited to see how we will stack up against a real solid field."

Previewing the Owls
  • Four of the top five scorers from a season ago return for the Owls this season, led by senior Ethan Whitney.
  • Whitney led the team with 12 rounds of par or better in 2023-24, and ranked second on the team with a 73.5 scoring average.
  • A second team All-AAC selection in 2022-23, he rounded out his season with an impressive Top 10 performance at AAC Championships, tying for eighth at one-under par.
  • Junior Aidan Emmerich also returns for Temple, coming off a sophomore campaign in which he stood third on the team in scoring average (73.6).
  • Emmerich led the squad with six Top 20 finishes, including a tie for fourth at last year's Temple Invitational.
  • Seniors Michael Walsh and Joey Morganti will look to close out their career as Owls on a high note.
  • Walsh saw action in 11 of the 12 events the team took part in a season ago and had a season-best round of 70 at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic.
  • Morganti earned his first collegiate victory by shooting a five-under par 67 to win the Big 5 Championship. After tying for medalist honors with two other participants, Morganti parred the fourth playoff hole to capture the individual title.
  • Another upperclassman looking to make an impact is senior Jake Naese. Naese saw action in two tournaments a season ago and has played 25 career rounds for Temple.
  • Additional returning players include juniors Brett McGrath, Darren Nolan, and Michael Quirk, as well as sophomores Ben Saggers, Matthew Vital, and Michael Vital.
  • Two newcomers join the squad for 2024-25 -- NYU transfer Drew Clark and Florida native Mason Tome.
The Field
  • Temple is one of 13 schools scheduled to participate in the event.
  • The Owls and host N.C. State are joined by Bellarmine, Campbell, Florida A&M, Jacksonville, N.C. Central, North Alabama, Queens University, Rhode Island, Stetson, and USC-Upstate.
