PHILADELPHIA – The defending American Athletic Conference regular-season champion Temple University women's basketball team announced its 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Thursday. The Owls have a challenging 11-game out of conference slate that includes four matchups with teams that participated in last season's NCAA Tournament.

"We have a very challenging non-conference schedule and we've tried scheduling a team from each of the Power 5 conferences," said head coach Diane Richardson. "The American is such a strong and well aligned conference and we believe this will best prepare us for our conference pairings."

Temple kicks off the 2024-25 season hosting defending Atlantic 10 champion Richmond on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Liacouras Center. The Spiders won 29 games a year ago and earned a trip to the big dance. Three straight road games are next with a trip to Delaware on Nov. 12, followed by contests at VCU (Nov. 15) and Georgetown (Nov. 19).

TU faces back-to-back conference tournament champions, starting with its first Big 5 game of the season, hosting Drexel on Nov. 23. The month closes with the 2024 Ivy League winner Princeton coming to the Liacouras Center on Nov. 26. The Tigers went 25-5 a season ago, including a 13-1 Ivy record.

December opens with a city rivalry as Temple travels cross town to face La Salle on Dec. 1. The culmination of the city slate with the inaugural Women's Big 5 Classic on Dec. 6, held at Finneran Pavilion on the campus of Villanova.
The last home game of the non-conference schedule comes up on Dec. 14 as the Owls host West Virginia. The Mountaineers won 25 games a year ago, earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament and defeated Princeton in the opening round.

Temple then flies to Berkeley, Calif. to take part in the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational on Dec. 21-22, facing Xavier in the opening game and either Cal or Fordham in its second contest.

Temple went 20-12 last season, its first year with 20+ wins since 2016-17. The Owls won a share of their first conference championship since the 2011-12 season. For tickets, click here or call 215-204-TIXX.
