Fencing Announces 2024-25 Competition Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - Temple fencing head coach Jennie Salmon announced the team's the 2024-25 season slate on Tuesday. The Owls' campaign is filled with 12-regular season meets, highlighted by three competitions at home.
The Owls will open the campaign with four of preseason events, beginning on Oct 4-7 in Atlantic City N.J. at the USA Fencing North America Cup, followed by Garret Open at Penn State on Oct. 19. Temple will close out the month of October as it hosts the second annual Coach Nikki Franke Classic on Oct. 26 in Temple's Liacouras Center.
The Cherry and White will end its tournament season in the month of November (17th) at Penn with the Elite Invitational.
Temple will begin dual season competition with one meet in the month of December at the Tradition Meet, formally known as the Sacred Heart Duals on Dec. 8.
The Owls will be in four meets in the month of January, beginning on Jan. 3-6, as it sends its fencers to the USA Fencing North American Cup in Kansas City, Missouri. Temple returns to the City of Brotherly Love on Jan. 17 and 19 for the Philadelphia Invitational, with day one of the event taking place at the TU Pavilion and day two taking place across town at Penn. The Owls return to Central Pennsylvania on Jan. 26 for the Penn State Invitational.
The Owls will head to the Evanston, Ill. on Feb. 1-2 for the Northwestern Duals before traveling to North Carolina for the Duke Invitational on Feb. 8. With another break in team competition in mid-February (Feb. 14-17), the Owls will send select fencers to Charlotte, N.C. for the USA Fencing Junior Olympics. The Cherry and White will finish off regular season play at the Temple Invitational in McGonigle Hall on Feb. 23.
Postseason play begins on March 1 at the NIWFA Championships, where Temple looks to capture its 29th-straight NIWFA Title at Drew University. NCAA Regionals are set for March 8 and the NCAA Championships will be on March 20-23 at Penn State.
