Wollenschlaeger Named USRowing Para Athlete of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. - Gemma Wollenschlaeger of the Temple women's rowing team has been named the USRowing Para National Team Female Athlete of the Year as announced by the organization on Thursday. 

Wollenschlaeger was part of the Team USA Mixed 4+ that won a silver medal at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, France, the highest ever finish for the boat in the race. 

"I am incredibly humbled and grateful for this recognition from USRowing," said Wollenschlaeger. "This honor is a testament to the dedication of my teammates and coaches who made these past couple of months the most unforgettable experience of my life. I couldn't have asked for a better team to share this journey with."

The award is selected by the athletes and coaches of the team that competed at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Wollenschlaeger and the Para National Team Male Athlete of the Year, Todd Vogt, will be recognized on Attager Row at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday, October 19, at 5 p.m.
