NEW YORK – Temple's women's track and field team made their first trip to New York this season to compete in the Dr. Sander Scorcher meet. The Owls faced off against over 15 teams and achieved four personal bests.
Results
> Sophomore Nya Browne continued her impressive performances, securing top-10 finishes in multiple events. She placed 4th in the 60-meter dash with a personal best of 7.89 seconds. Browne also finished 3rd in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds, and 7th in the 200-meter dash, running 25.24 seconds.
> Mariah Jameson earned 15th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.98 seconds and 17th in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 58.45 seconds.
> Maliah Powell and Chloe Smith also represented Temple in the 400 meters, finishing 22nd and 24th, respectively. Smith ran 58.74 seconds, while Powell posted a time of 1:01.38.
> In the 800 meters, Zuzanna Bak led the Owls with a 6th-place finish, running 2:16.24. Laila Cottom, in her season debut for the 800 meters, set a personal best of 2:21.90.
> Freshman cross country standout Amelia Sabatino had a breakthrough performance in the 3,000 meters, setting a huge personal best of 10:30.62.
> In the jumps, Amira Green cleared 1.70 meters in the high jump to place 4th. Deja Scott also set a personal best, jumping 5.55 meters in the long jump to finish 4th. Reagan Schwartz had marks of 5.30 meters in the long jump and 11.56 meters in the triple jump. Reece Sullivan cleared 3.45 meters in the pole vault to set a new personal best, while Aliza White Vega placed 3rd in the pole vault invitational, clearing 3.75 meters.
> The freshman quartet of Hickman, Jameson, Powell, and Smith set a season's best in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 3:55.27.
