Turner Named to the American Conference Preseason First Team

IRVING, Texas – Temple University junior guard Kaylah Turner was named to the Preseason All-American Conference First Team, as announced by the league on Thursday.
In the 2024–25 season, Turner was named the AAC Sixth Player of the Year and earned a spot on the AAC All-Newcomer Team. She played in 31 games, starting in two, and averaged 10.1 points per game—third highest on the team—while shooting 41% from the field and 37% from three. Turner scored a career-high 25 points against FAU and recorded her first collegiate double-double with 22 points and a career-best 11 rebounds against Tulane.
As a team, Temple was chosen to finish fourth out of 13 teams, with South Florida, the preseason favorite and garnering 11 first-place votes. Last season, the Owls were selected eighth in the preseason poll, but finished with a 13-5 record to secure the fourth spot.
Defending American Conference Tournament Champion South Florida, which returns the other Preseason Player of the Year Carlo Brito, received a pair of first-place votes and is ranked first in the preseason poll, along with UTSA, who received a vote, while Rice, who is picked to finish second, also received a first-place vote.
