Scouting the Spiders
- Richmond enters the season as the reigning A-10 regular-season champion after going 17–1 in conference play and 28–7 overall.
- The Spiders made their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance last season, defeating Georgia Tech in the first round before falling to No. 1 seed UCLA, 84–67, in the second round.
- Richmond was picked to finish atop the Atlantic 10 again this season, according to the conference's preseason poll.
- They feature two preseason All-Conference First Team selections: Maggie Doogan and Rachel Ullstrom.
- Doogan, last season's A-10 Player of the Year (the first in program history), recently became just the ninth player in program history to reach 1,500 career points.
- The Spiders are coming off a 77–67 win over Columbia, shooting 25–54 (46.3%) from the field and 12–26 (46.2%) from three. They were also a perfect 15–15 from the free-throw line.
- Richmond's bench contributed just five points in that game, while four starters scored in double figures.
Kay Yow Servant Leader
- This year, the Kay Yow Award spans 22 conferences across all divisions — DI, DII, DIII, and JUCO.
- Each conference honoree will be recognized as a Servant Leader and will wear a special patch on their jersey during the season.
- Temple University: Tristen Taylor
