Despite Turner’s Second-Half Surge, Owls Fall to Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — The Temple women's basketball team (3–2) came up short on Tuesday night, falling to Richmond (4–1), 72–57, at the Robins Center. Kaylah Turner led the Owls with 22 points, while Jaleesa Molina posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

How it happened
First Quarter
  • Maggie Doogan opened the scoring with a three-pointer.
  • Jaleesa Molina quickly answered with a second-chance layup.
  • Temple endured a scoring drought of over two minutes to start the game.
  • Molina scored again to pull the Owls within three, trailing 7–4.
  • Richmond knocked down three of its first four attempts from beyond the arc in the opening five minutes.
  • At the first media timeout, the Spiders led 13–6.
  • Richmond extended its lead with a 6–0 run as Temple suffered another two-minute scoring drought.
