Temple improved to 3–1 on the season with an 81–76 win over Hofstra on Wednesday night at the Liacouras Center.
The Owls shot an efficient 50% from the floor (25-50) and 43.8% from three-point range (7-16) while knocking down 24-of-31 free throws (77.4%).
Aiden Tobiason led the charge with 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from deep and a perfect 8-for-8 from the line. Derrian Ford followed with 20 points, going 11-of-12 from the stripe to go along with three rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
Jamai Felt posted his best performance as an Owl, recording eight points and two rebounds, highlighted by an alley-oop slam.
Jordan Mason added 10 points, while Babatunde Durodola contributed seven points and six rebounds.
Gavin Griffiths finished with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc, with all shots from the perimeter occurring in the second half, helping Temple pull away.
Temple narrowly won the rebounding battle, 32–31, and outscored Hofstra 48–45 in the second half after taking a 33–31 lead into the break.
With the victory, the Owls conclude their four-game homestand and head to Kissimmee, Fla., to face U.C. San Diego in the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational.
With a win, Temple will advance to face the winner of Princeton and Bradley the following day at 5 p.m. The loser will compete in the consolation bracket game at 7:30 p.m.

UC San Diego enters the matchup with a 4–0 record, earning wins over La Verne (105–73), Houston Christian (78–60), Fresno State (78–73), and Idaho (75–67).
The Tritons are coming off their first NCAA Tournament appearance (2024–25) and return with an overhauled roster and new coaching staff.
Head Coach Clint Allard takes over after 11 years as associate head coach at U.C. San Diego.
The roster features 10 newcomers, eight transfers and two freshmen.
Juniors Leo Beath and Tom Beattie lead the team, combining to average 32.3 points per game.
Key 2025–26 victories include:
- Fresno State (78–73): Beath posted 22 points and 7 rebounds.
- Idaho (75–67): Aidan Burked added 13 points to complement Beath and Beattie's combined 30.
In 2024–25, the Tritons captured the Big West Tournament title with a 30-win season, punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament in their first year of eligibility as a Division I program.
As a No. 14 seed, the Tritons narrowly fell to Michigan (68–65) in the NCAA first round.
