  • Temple suffered a 58–88 loss to Villanova on Saturday night in Big 5 action.
  • Tristen Taylor led the Owls with 15 points, while Felicia Jacobs added a career-high 10 against the Wildcats.
  • The Owls have now dropped back-to-back games for the first time since the 2023–24 season, when Temple lost three straight (Ole Miss, Villanova, and Saint Joseph's).
  • Temple has shot over 40% from behind the arc in just one game this season (George Washington). The Owls posted a season-low 15% from three against Villanova, going 2-for-13.
  • Temple ranks in the Top 50 nationally in rebounds per game (43, T-42) and free-throw percentage (80%, 17th).

Scouting the Spartans
  • Last season, Michigan State went 11-7 in conference play and finished with an overall record of 22-10. They earned themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament. They beat Harvard, 64-50, in the first round but then fell to NC State in the second round, 49-83.
  • Their win over Harvard was their first NCAA Tournament win since 2019.
  • The Spartans are 6-0 on the season. They have registered more than 100 points in three of those games. They have also not scored less than 90 points in any of their games this season.
  • Grace Vanslooten leads the Spartans in points with 100. The senior was selected to be on the Preseason All-Big Ten Team.
  • Redshirt-sophomore guard Kennedy Blair is coming off a career-high game after producing 25 points en route to the Spartans' 102-41 win over Oakland. She leads the team in assists (38), rebounds (38), and field goals made (43) and attempted (74).
  • The Spartans have now had three games this season in which they recorded at least 20 steals. They are averaging 19 per game.
  • Michigan State is shooting 54.3% from the field as a team. Their three-point percentage is 41.2% and they shoot 66.4% from the foul line.

Scouting the Tigers
  • Clemson is 4–2 on the season with wins against Mercer (72–51), American University (78–38), Furman (76–58), and USC Upstate (78–38).
  • The Tigers are coming off a 14–17 campaign in 2024–25, including a 6–12 mark in ACC play.
  • Mia Moore leads Clemson in scoring at 13.7 ppg, followed by Rusne Augustinaite at 11.8 ppg. Moore also leads the team in points, assists, and rebounds so far this season.
  • Moore has scored in double figures in each of the last three games, including a season-high 20 points against Mercer.

Scouting the Catamounts'
  • Western Carolina enters the Baha Mar Tournament on a five-game losing streak, with defeats to Campbell (54–66), No. 6 Oklahoma (32–95), UNC Asheville (50–67), Wake Forest (49–60), and West Georgia (69–60).
  • The Catamounts finished the 2024–25 season with a 13–17 record and a 3–11 mark in SoCon play.
  • Ally Hollifield leads the team in scoring at 13.7 ppg, while Taj Hunter ranks second with 10.9 ppg.
  • Western Carolina is shooting 35.6% from the field and 33.6% from three.

Kay Yow Servant Leader
  • This year, the Kay Yow Award spans 22 conferences across all divisions — DI, DII, DIII, and JUCO.
  • Each conference honoree will be recognized as a Servant Leader and will wear a special patch on their jersey during the season.

Under New Leadership
  • Jaleesa Molina, Tristen Taylor, and Kaylah Turner have been named team captains for the 2025–26 season.
  • Taylor and Molina are the only returning starters from the 2024–25 roster.
  • Taylor averaged 6.7 points and a team-high 3.6 assists per game last season.
  • Molina averaged 7.4 points and 7 rebounds per game while shooting 52.5% from the field.
  • Turner appeared in 31 games (two starts), averaging 10.1 points per game — third-highest on the team — while shooting 41% from the field and 37% from three.
