Men's Golf Begins Spring Season at Wexford Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Temple University men's golf team starts its spring campaign on Monday, Feb. 17, when it takes part in the two-day Wexford Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event will be hosted by Francis Marion University.

- The Owls return to action for the first of seven scheduled events this spring, and their first of two in the state of South Carolina.
- Through the fall, senior Ethan Whitney was the team's top scorer with a 72.5 stroke average through 11 rounds.
- Whitney posted a season-best round of seven-under 65 at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, matching a school record with his seven-under par performance.
- As a team, Temple also broke a school mark with a 14-under par round of 276, which eclipsed the prior record of 11-under par set twice previously.
- In addition to the event held at Wexford, the Owls will participate in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C. on Mar. 10-11.
- After the tournament, Temple returns to action at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Puerto Rico on Feb. 23-25.
- In addition to Temple and Francis Marion, Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Cleveland State, Cornell, Dartmouth, Dayton, Denver, East Carolina, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Mercer, Presbyterian, Radford, Samford, USC Aiken, and Xavier will take part in the event.
