Owls Fall at Home to Rivals Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's lacrosse (1-2) fell at home to crosstown rival Saint Joseph's University (1-3), 14-7, in front of 135 fans at Howarth Field on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
- SJU was led by Sarah Groark and Maddie Yoder, who each scored three goals. Alexa Capozzoli contributed an SJU team-high eight assists. Emma Yoder and Kate Kaptrosky each added two goals for the Hawks.
- Emily Liberio and Lexi Culp each scored twice, while Amelia Wright, Sarah Gowman, and Erin King each added one goal. Jenna Facciolli and Gowman recorded two assists apiece.
- SJU outshot Temple 36-19 and dominated in shots on goal, 26-14. The Hawks also had a strong performance in draw controls, winning 13 compared to Temple's 9. SJU committed 14 turnovers, while Temple had 23.
- The game saw several penalties, with Temple's Sarah Gowman and Quinn Howe both taking fouls early in the match. Despite being outnumbered in fouls, SJU's defense was strong, with goalie Megan Sanelli recording seven saves.
