Women's Tennis Prepares for Friday Showdown Against Howard University

PHILADELPHIA - This Friday, February 7, the Temple women's tennis will head to Washington, D.C., to face off against Howard University in an exciting matchup. The team is looking forward to the challenge as it gears up for another tough opponent.

SCOUTING TEMPLE

Marianthi Christoforidou and Thamara Kawaratani have been double partners since last year, and they showcased their chemistry in a 6-4 victory at the No. 1 spot against Fordham University.
Nina Andreoni, a freshman, made a strong impact in singles play, securing Temple's only singles victory with a decisive 6-3, 6-2 win over Fordham's Sofie Siem.
Aditi Vaidya, from Philadelphia, put up an intense fight in singles, battling through a competitive match before falling 6-4, 6-4.

SCOUTING HOWARD

In Howard University's season opener against crosstown rival Georgetown, the Bison started strong with a 6-0 doubles victory from Nadia Pegram and Imani Jean over Georgetown's Emily Novikov and Katie Garofolo-Ro at No. 1. Selah Stibbins and Dana Hall followed up with a 6-3 win at No. 2, giving Howard a 1-0 lead going into singles play. Ava Chambers secured a three-set singles victory (6-2, 5-7, 7-5) at No. 3, while Dana Hall battled hard in her singles match, extending it to three sets but ultimately falling 6-7, 7-5, 0-1 [10-6] to Georgetown's Carolyn Schaefer.
