- Temple made six of its first nine attempts from the floor and took a 17-16 lead after a three-pointer from sophomore Quante Berry with 13:08 on the clock.
- Another triple, this one from senior Steve Settle III, gave the Owls another one-point lead and junior Elijah Gray connected on a long three to put the score at 27-25 in favor of the visitors with 4:39 to go in the first half.
- Trailing by three in the closing moments of the period, freshman Aiden Tobiason drained one from downtown to tie the score at 35-35 heading into halftime.
- The Owls shot 50.0 percent (5-for-10) from distance in the first half, and scored 11 points off 11 Memphis turnovers.
- Following a back-and-forth first few minutes of the second stanza, a 7-0 spurt by the Tigers gave the home team a 47-42 advantage and forced a timeout by the Owls.
- Two quick baskets by Berry cut the deficit to one, but seven consecutive points by Memphis put the margin back to eight.Â
- From there, the nationally-ranked Tigers held the lead the rest of the way and improved to 20-4 on the season and 10-1 in AAC play.
- In addition to Tobiason, Settle III (17), Berry (16), Shane Dezonie (13), and Gray (10) registered double-figure points.
- Memphis shot 56.1 percent from the field and held a 40-26 advantage in points in the paint.
- Tobiason's 18-point total came on a perfect shooting afternoon - 4-for-4 from the field (3-for-3 from three) and 7-for-7 from the foul line.
- P.J. Haggerty scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Tigers.
- Temple returns home for two straight at Liacouras Center, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 12 against Tulsa.
