Morganti Goes Low on Final Day of Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. - Senior Joey Morganti put together a final-round, three-under par 69, as the Temple men's golf team concluded play at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate on Sunday. The Owls shaved 10 strokes off their second-round score and finished in seventh place out of 14 teams in the field.

- The round started inauspiciously for Morganti, who went bogey-par-bogey and was two-over par through his first three holes.
- After a par on the par-4 fourth, Morganti birdied the par-5 fifth and got back to level for his round with a birdie on the par-3 eighth.
- The unblemished back nine for Havertown, Pa. product featured three birdies and six pars as he vaulted 18 spots in the individual rankings and into the top 50 for the event.
- Leading Temple overall on the tournament were senior Ethan Whitney and junior Aidan Emmerich, who both tied for 18th at two-over par 218.
- Whitney registered four birdies on his one-over round of 73 Sunday, while Emmerich had three birdies and 12 pars across his two-over 74.
- Campbell earned the team championship over host East Carolina, with Harvard finishing in third place.
- Temple ranked second as a team, behind only team champion Campbell, in par-3 scoring at 3.11 for the 54-hole event. The Owls also tied for third with 188 pars.
- Temple will take a short break before returning to action on April 12-13 at the Princeton Invitational.Â
