Lacrosse Drops Road Decision at No. 2 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The second-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels received six goals from redshirt freshman Chloe Humphrey en route to a 19-3 victory over the Temple Owls in non-conference lacrosse action on Tuesday. Sarah Gowman, Sabrina Martin, and Kali Sato each found the back of the net for the Owls in the loss.

- Chloe Humphrey and her older sister, Ashley, opened the scoring for the Tar Heels and put the score at 2-0 within the game's first minute.
- Gowman halved the deficit for the visitors off a feed from Emily Liberio, before UNC tallied four straight to put the score at 6-2 at the first quarter break.
- The two teams played a pretty even second quarter, with Sato scoring Temple's lone goal of the period to put the score at 7-3 with just under three minutes ahead of halftime.
- Ashley Humphrey capped the scoring with just over a minute on the clock to give the home team a five-goal advantage at intermission.
- UNC scored seven goals in the third quarter and four more in the fourth, to improve to 6-0 on the year.
- Taylor Grollman had six saves in goal for the Owls through three quarters, before Colleen Berardino saw the first action of her collegiate career and registered five saves in the final quarter.
- Temple continues its North Carolina swing with a road matchup with Queens University on Friday, March 7.
