Strong Showing from Doroshkevich Highlights Fencing's April NAC Trip

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Select members of the Temple fencing team traveled to California for the April edition of USA Fencing's North American Cup over the weekend. The trip was highlighted by a strong performance from freshman Victoria Doroshkevich, who earned an 11th-place finish in the Junior Women's Epee division.

- Doroshkevich began the Junior division by finishing 5-1 in pool play and a +7 touch score. She received a bye to the round of 128, where she earned a close 15-14 win to advance to the next round. There, Doroshkevich won yet again in thrilling fashion, 15-14 to make it to the round of 32. A 15-12 victory propelled her to the round of 16, before falling 11-15 to end Doroshkevich's run and give her 11th place.
- Doroshevich also saw action in the Div 1 Women's Epee event, alongside Auprell Edwards and Linsdey Minor. The highest finish of the trio came from Minor, who finished 48th overall. Minor finished pool play 4-2 with a +2 touch score, and won her first elimination round bout 15-5 to advance to the round of 64, where she ultimately fell 11-15.
FOIL
- Anna Novoseltseva competed in the Div I Women's Foil division, finishing in 43rd. Novoseltseva went 4-2 in pool play along with a +8 touch score. After receiving a bye, she was defeated 11-15 in the round of 64.
