American Athletic Conference Championships in Florida On Deck for Men's Golf

SARASOTA, Fla. - The Temple University men's golf team travels to the Sunshine State to compete in the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championships, beginning Monday. The three-day, 54-hole event will feature all 11 AAC schools as they compete for a league championship and automatic berth into NCAA Golf Championships.Â

- Temple will play in its 12th event of the 2024-25 season and the seventh of the spring semester.
- Most recently, the Owls had a solid first day at the Princeton Invitational, sitting just three shots off the pace heading into the second and final day.
- Senior Ethan Whitney tied for 11th place and has scored six Top 20 showings over the course of his senior year.
- Whitney is one of four players who have played in all 27 rounds for the Owls this season, along with seniors Jake Naese and Joey Morganti, and junior Aidan Emmerich.
- Whitney, who is a three-time All-AAC honoree heading into this his fourth and final conference championship, leads the team with a 73.8 scoring average.
- Emmerich is close behind with a 74.0 average and also has six top-20 finishes on his campaign.
- Temple is joined by East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Charlotte, Memphis, UAB, North Texas, UTSA, Rice, Wichita State, and South Florida in the field.
- The USF Bulls won last year's championship by seven strokes over former AAC member SMU.
