Emmerich Moves Up Leaderboard on Day 2 of AAC Men's Golf Championships

SARASOTA, Fla. - Junior Aidan Emmerich fired a two-under par 70 and moved to one-under par overall following the second day of the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday. The Owls shaved four shots off their first-round score as a team and stand at 594.

- Emmerich had an unblemished round on a beautiful morning at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club.
- The Swampscott, Mass. product carded a pair of birdies - at the par-5 6th and par-5 15th - along with 16 pars. The round moved Emmerich just outside the top 20 individually in a tie for 21st.
- Senior Ethan Whitney also had an under-par second day of the tournament, totaling two birdies and a single bogey on his round of one-under 71.
- Whitney's classmate Jake Naese matched Whitney for team-high honors with two birdies on the day, as did freshman Mason Tomé.
- USF holds a one-shot lead over Charlotte, who shot a 17-under par round of 271 to move four shots closer to the Bulls.
- The third and final round of the AAC Men's Golf Championship will take place on Wednesday, April 23, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
- ESPN+ will broadcast the final round, with Sean Salisbury (play-by-play), Joe Cowart (analyst) and Maria Trivelpiece (reporter) on the call.
