Doroshkevich Named USFCA Epee Newcomer of the Year
5.7.25 | Women's Fencing
PHILADELPHIA – Freshman epeeist Victoria Doroshkevich has been named the Women's Epee Newcomer of the Year by the United States Fencing Coaches Association, the organization announced Wednesday.
Doroshkevich made an immediate impact in her debut season with the Owls. The Park Ridge, Ill., native posted a 50-31 regular season record, highlighted by a standout performance at the Penn State Invitational where she tallied nine victories, seven of which came against top-10 opponents.
She finished second at the NIWFA Championship and added an 11th-place showin at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. Her strong performances at these competitions earned her All-NIWFA First Team honors and a spot on the USFCA All-Region Second Team.
This marks the second consecutive year a Temple fencer has earned a Newcomer of the Year award, following sabreist Lauren Johnson's recognition in 2024.
