Temple Women’s Basketball Lands Transfer Brianna Mead

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball head coach Diane Richardson announced the signing of transfer Brianna Mead on Tuesday.

Mead, a 5'7″ sophomore guard from Thompson, Connecticut, was a key contributor for Long Island University during the 2024–25 season. Across 27 games, Mead averaged 30.3 minutes while posting 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, shooting 37.2% overall, 34.6% from three, and 76.5% from the line.

Mead had a standout performance with a 22-point outburst (5‑for‑8 from deep, 5‑for‑5 at the line, eight rebounds) in 51 minutes vs. Wagner. She recorded 16 points and four steals in 39 minutes at FDU. During the NEC Tournament clash with Central Connecticut State, Mead dropped 13 points in 40 minutes. She also recorded seven field goals inside against Chicago State. Mead dished five assists vs. Mercyhurst. 

Before Long Island University,  Mead graduated from Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Conn., in 2023, played five years of varsity basketball, completed a post‑graduate season at South Shore Christian Academy where she averaged 14 points, six assists and three rebounds per game and competed in club basketball with the MCW Starz and the NYC Gauchos.
