Temple Athletics and the university community are saddened by the loss of longtime men's basketball staff member John DiSangro '88, who passed away on June 26. He was 60 years old.
The longest-tenured member of John Chaney's staff, DiSangro started his career as a manager on the Hall of Fame coach's team in 1983. He was deemed so valuable to the program that the position of director of basketball operations was created to keep him on staff the year before he graduated in 1988.
DiSangro held this position for 19 years until Coach Chaney retired in 2006, doing all the behind-the-scenes work that helped the Owls to 17 NCAA appearances and five trips to the Elite Eight.
He was inducted into the Temple men's basketball Ring of Honor in 2017.
Following Chaney's retirement in 2006, DiSangro joined Comcast SportsNet as an associate producer.
