Kevin Harvell Named to Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's crew senior Kevin Harvell has been named one of nine members of the Phily-SIDA Academic All-Area Team for men's crew, it was announced on Wednesday.

Temple's JoAnne A. Epps Male Scholar of the Year in 2025, Harvell has been a member of the varsity 8 that was ranked #16 in the nation according to the latest IRA/IRCA National Top 25 Poll on May 21, and won the Dad Vail Championship for the first time since the 2021 season. The victory at Dad Vails qualified the boat for IRA National Championships, where they helped the Owls to a 16th-place finish in the Ten Eyck Points Trophy standings.

One of the top athletes on the team, Harvell pulled a sub-6 minute erg time for 2,000 meters to rank among the best in Temple men's crew history. An architecture major who has also earned Dean's List recognition four times, he interned with Temple's Health Sciences Development Group, where he assisted in the planning of construction and building enhancement projects for the Health Science Campus.
