Head Coach Hampton-Keith Announces 2025 Volleyball Roster

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's volleyball has finalized its 2025 roster for the upcoming season. The roster features ten new members of the team, two transfers, and eight freshmen.Â
Temple has nine returners, sophomore Christiana Greene and junior Lexi Yoza are coming off standout seasons. As a freshman, Greene made an immediate impact, earning All-AAC Freshman Team honors and two AAC Weekly Honorable Mentions. The versatile hitter appeared in all 30 matches, playing 98 sets, and reached double-digit kills four times. She posted 10 kills on a career-best .818 hitting percentage against Florida (8/31), tallied a season-high 15 kills and 16 points in a win over Tulane (11/8), and recorded six blocks against North Carolina (9/7). She closed the season with a career-high six digs at Charlotte (11/17).Â
Junior setter Yoza enters 2025 following a standout sophomore season in which she earned AAC Setter of the Week (9/2). She started all 30 matches, playing in all 103 sets, and led the Owls with 845 assists. Yoza posted 16 matches with 25 or more assists, highlighted by a career-high 53 assists in a five-set win at Presbyterian (9/8). She delivered eight double-doubles, capped by 50 assists and a career-best 21 digs in the season finale at Charlotte (11/17). Defensively, she set a career high with five blocks against North Carolina (9/7) and tied the program's single-match record with 46 assists against Rider (10/23).
Graduate student Leia Harper joins the Owls after three seasons at Georgia Tech, where she appeared in 75 sets across 42 matches. In 2024, she played in 35 sets over 18 matches, finishing with 28 kills, 10 digs, 10 block assists, and a season-high five kills in a win over No. 14 BYU. In 2023, she recorded 28 kills, five digs, and one assist in 20 sets, making her NCAA Tournament debut in the Sweet 16 against Nebraska. As a freshman in 2022, Harper saw action in 20 sets over 10 matches, tallying 15 kills, seven digs, and seven blocks.
Sophomore Jaya Moore, transferring from Charlotte, appeared in 30 sets over 13 matches last season, finishing with 16 kills, 52 assists, 12 digs, and 11 block assists for the 49ers.
The incoming freshman class features a talented group from across the country and Puerto Rico.Â
Ope Aladetimi, a 6-1 outside/right side hitter from Sugar Land, Texas, was named to the AVCA Phenom Watch list in 2022, 2023, and 2024. As a senior, she totaled 367 kills, 319 digs, 36 aces, 51 blocks (10 solo, 41 assists), and 22 assists. In her junior year, she earned First Team All-District, Academic All-District, and was named EHS Offensive Player of the Year after recording 266 kills, 143 digs, 51 blocks, 15 aces, and seven assists.
Makayla Batten is a 6-3 middle blocker from Audubon, Pennsylvania. A consistent presence at the net, she led her team in blocks during both her senior and sophomore seasons. In her junior year, she was named to the Pioneer Athletic Conference All-Team.
MeMe Cardwell, a 6-1 right side hitter, comes from Miami Gardens, Florida. During her senior year, she played in 66 sets and recorded 173 kills, averaging 3 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .300. As a junior, she appeared in 67 sets, tallying 154 kills with an average of 2.6 kills per set and a .269 hitting percentage.
Daniella Gonzalez Murati, a 6-foot setter from Gurabo, Puerto Rico, attended Colegio Adianez and made her mark as a standout player from 2022 to 2025. Murati helped lead her team to a JV National Championship in 2021–22 before capturing back-to-back Varsity National Championships in 2023–24 and 2024–25. As a junior, she was named the 2023–24 National Championship MVP, and in 2024, she earned international recognition as the Best Setter at the Caribbean Volleyball Championship.
Maddie Metcalf, a 5-2 libero/defensive specialist from Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, was the 2024 Daily Local News Volleyball Player of the Year. She was also a three-time Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association All-State (AAAA) selection, earning multiple All-District, All-Conference, and All-Area First Team honors, as well as Team MVP recognition, at Bishop Shanahan High School.
Claudia Rivera, a 5-1 libero/defensive specialist from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, served as co-captain of the Puerto Rico U19 National Team in 2024, helping lead the squad to a bronze medal at the NORCECA Continental Volleyball Championship. In 2023, she earned All-Star honors at the Angel Matos Volleyball Challenge and the Puerto Rico Volleyball Championship, and was named Best Defensive Player at the PR School National Tournament "Buzzer Beater."
Steel Sinai, a 6-3 middle blocker from Beaverton, Oregon, was named First Team All-Metro League as a senior, ranking 23rd in her position and 87th overall in the state. She averaged nine kills and two solo blocks per match. As a junior, she earned Third Team All-Metro League honors and was ranked 21st in her position and 10th overall in the state.
Rounding out the class is Sofia Vega Lopez, a 6-1 outside/right side hitter from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Temple opens the season Friday, August 29, at 1 p.m. against Bowling Green at the North Dakota State University Invite.
