Temple Volleyball Hosts Cherry & White Invitational at McGonigle Hall

PHILADELPHIA – Temple will host Presbyterian College, Dartmouth College, and Quinnipiac University in the Cherry & White Invitational at McGonigle Hall. This marks the 10th year Temple has hosted a tournament, officially known as the Cherry & White Challenge.
The Owls will open the weekend with a match against Presbyterian on Friday at noon, face Quinnipiac on Saturday at noon, and wrap up the tournament Sunday at 3 p.m. against Dartmouth.
NEWS IN THE NEST
Over the weekend at the Rose Hill Classic, Olivia Hummel emerged as the Owls' top offensive threat, finishing with 40 kills (3.33 per set) on a .277 hitting percentage. She posted a standout performance with 15 kills and a .433 hitting clip vs. FDU, followed by 14 kills and 21 digs at Hofstra. Across the weekend, she added 50 digs (4.17/set) and five service aces, notching multiple double-doubles and leading the team with 47 total points (3.92 per set).
Claudia Rivera stood out defensively, averaging 3.25 digs per set (39 total) to help anchor Temple's back row. She recorded a season-best 20 digs at Fordham, playing a pivotal role in the team's road win. Rivera also contributed six assists, showcasing her versatility in transition. Following her performance, Temple now ranks third in the American Athletic Conference in digs, averaging 15 digs per set.
Lexi Yoza orchestrated the offense with 79 assists (6.58 per set) while hitting .333 on limited attempts. She registered a weekend-high 32 assists at Fordham and added 24 more at Hofstra. Defensively, Yoza was also strong, collecting 41 digs (3.42 per set), including 18 digs at Hofstra.
Alyssa Finister continues to impress, ranking second in the American in hitting percentage. She's hitting .370 with 75 kills over 35 sets.
Scouting Presbyterian
At last weekend's Georgia Bulldogs Tournament, Presbyterian went 0-3. The Blue Hose are currently 2-7 overall. They are led offensively by Ashley Miller, who has 101 kills, averaging 3.0 kills per set, and defensively by Aubrie Arnold, who has recorded 143 digs (4.33 per set). Maddie Moss enters her first season as head coach, having taken the helm in May 2025.

Scouting Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac holds a 2-7 record. At the College of Charleston Invitational, the Bobcats went 0-3. They are led by Elena Giacomini, who has posted 147 kills (4.20 per set), and Yagmur Gunes, who leads the defense with 91 digs (2.68 per set). Kyle Robinson is in his seventh season as head coach of the Bobcats.

Scouting Dartmouth
The Big Green have been on the road for 12 straight matches, holding a 2-4 record. They are led by Kauany Gutz, who has tallied 48 kills, while EllaMae Fitzgerald anchors the defense with 71 digs. Kevin Maureen Campbell is in her third season leading Dartmouth.
