9.29.25 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Claudia Rivera earned American Honorable Mention following back-to-back 20+ dig performances, recording 22 at Penn and 24 at Rice.

Rivera, a key defensive specialist/libero, led Temple with 58 digs across 13 sets, averaging 4.46 per set, the highest on the roster. She has also excelled in serve-receive, posting a .967 reception percentage, with just two errors on 60 attempts.

Through eight sets, Rivera ranks third in the American in digs, averaging 4.50 per set, while Temple ranks second as a team.

The Puerto Rico native is a standout volleyball talent. In 2024, she served as co-captain of the Puerto Rico National Team U-19, helping the team secure a bronze medal at the NORCECA Continental Championship in Honduras.

Temple returns to McGonigle Hall this weekend, hosting USF on Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. and FAU on Sunday, Oct. 5. Both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
