Volleyball Will Travel to D.C. This Weekend for Three Matches

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Owls are hitting the road this weekend as they head to Washington, D.C., for a three-match series at the George Washington/Georgetown Tournament. The trip kicks off Friday at 6:00 p.m. when Temple faces George Washington. On Saturday at noon, the Owls will take on North Carolina Central, and they'll wrap up the weekend on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against Georgetown.Â

Temple is averaging 36 kills and just under 40 digs per match this season. The team posted its best hitting percentage last weekend against North Dakota, recording a collective .340 at the NDSU/UND Invite.
Graduate student Leia Harper and senior Alyssa Finister led the way offensively, combining for 48 kills while each hitting over .220. Finister stood out as Temple's most consistent attacking threat, showing noticeable improvement in each match, and peaking during the sweep over North Dakota.
Freshman Daniella Gonzalez Murati continues to pace the team in assists with 46 total, averaging 4.60 assists per set.
Scouting George Washington
George Washington enters the weekend led by 2024 All-Rookie selection Taylor Treachy, who leads the team in kills with 46 and averages 3.56 kills per set. Lydia Zheng anchors the defense with 38 digs, averaging 2.92 digs per set. The Revolutionaries are coached by Katie Reifert, now in her fourth season.

Temple holds a 24–6 advantage in the all-time series against George Washington, dating back to 1997.
Scouting North Carolina Central
North Carolina Central is led by Kamron Harper with 55 kills, averaging 4.23 kills per set, while Loren Johnson leads the team in digs with 54, averaging 4.15 per set. The Eagles have recorded 25 blocks through their first four matches.The Eagles, led by new head coach Jonathan Paulk.Â
All-Time vs North Carolina Central
This will be the first-ever meeting between Temple and North Carolina Central.
Scouting Georgetown
Georgetown's offense is led by Dionna Mitchell and Samantha Soderlund, who each have 30 kills and are averaging 3.0 kills per set. On the defensive side, Jade Smith has totaled 40 digs across nine sets, averaging 4.44 digs per set. Georgetown is coached by first-year head coach AJ Bonetti.Â
