Spirit Squads to Host Nationals Showcase on Sunday at McGonigle Hall

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Spirit Squads, consisting of the Diamond Gems dance team and the cheerleaders, is set to compete at the 2025 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida, from January 16-18.
The Owls will look to build on their recent success at National Championships. Last year, the Diamond Gems secured a second straight fourth-place finish in the Game Day Routine category, matching the program's best result in the competition. This also marked the Owls' seventh Top 10 finish in the category. The cheerleading team also earned a fourth-place finish for their efforts in the All-Girl Game Day routine. This continues the Owls streak of a top five finish in this category in each year since its debut in 2017.
As part of their final preparations, the Spirit Squad will host a Nationals Showcase on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 3 p.m. in McGonigle Hall. Admission is free, and all family, friends, student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans are encouraged to attend and cheer on the Diamond Gems and Cheerleading Team as they display their routines before heading to Orlando.
