  • The Temple women's basketball team came up short against the North Texas Mean Green, falling 69–66 at home on Saturday afternoon.
  • Savannah Curry led the Owls with 14 points, shooting 5-for-13 from the field.
  • Saniyah Craig added 10 points on 4-for-11 shooting while also pulling down six rebounds.
  • Kaylah Turner led the team in rebounds and assists, collecting seven boards and four assists.
  • Temple finished with 21 bench points against UNT after totaling just three in the previous game. However, the Owls committed 20 turnovers to North Texas' 10, with the Mean Green scoring 20 points off turnovers compared to nine for Temple.
  • Both teams scored 32 points in the paint, despite Temple outrebounding North Texas 44–34.
Scouting the Roadrunners
  • UTSA enters the game in sixth place in the American Athletic Conference with an overall record of 11–11 and a 6–5 mark in conference play. Last season, the Roadrunners won the conference with an overall record of 26–5 (17–1 American) and were picked to finish second this year in the preseason poll.
  • Cheyenne Rowe leads the team in scoring with 283 points through 21 games, averaging 13.5 points per game. She also leads the Roadrunners in rebounds (184) and field-goal percentage (.465).
  • Ereauna Hardaway ranks second on the team in scoring with 227 points in 21 games (10.8 ppg). She leads UTSA in three-point percentage (.444; 24-for-54), assists (105), and steals (37).
  • UTSA is coming off a 66–47 win over Tulsa, holding the Golden Hurricane to single-digit scoring in two of the four quarters. Idara Udo led the Roadrunners with 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Rowe followed closely with 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting.
  • The Roadrunners defeated the Owls in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 3, 50–47. UTSA has registered 50 points or fewer in only two conference games this season.
