Budd Named EAGL Specialist of the Week
3.11.26 | Women's Gymnastics
PHILADELPHIA – Junior gymnast Amelia Budd has been named East Atlantic Gymnast League's Specialist of the Week based on her results from Temple's two meets last week. This is the second time Budd has been recognized as the specialist of the week this season.
Budd finished inside the top three in both events she competed in last Thursday against Maryland, Penn, and Towson. Her 9.850 on the floor is her fifth 9.800 or higher on the apparatus this season. On the Vault, Budd put up two more big scores, especially on Thursday. Her 9.800 was her sixth this season of that score or higher and has her sitting squarely in second place in the EAGL on vault.
Budd has an average vault score of 9.791 and a National Qualifying Score of 9.815. The NQS Average is calculated by using a maximum of 5 home meets, dropping the high and low scores, and averaging the remaining scores. For individuals the score is calculated by taking the six best regular season meet scores, of which three must be away. To obtain the national qualifying score (NQS), the high score is eliminated, and the remaining five scores are averaged.
The Owls and Budd will be back in action this Sunday, March 15 at 1:00 pm for the George Washington Quad Meet. This will be the final regular season meet of the year for Temple before traveling to LIU to compete in the 2026 EAGL Championships on Saturday, March 21 at 5:00 pm.
