Owls Roll Past Vanderbilt on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's lacrosse (10–4, 2–3 American) earned a dominant 10–4 victory over Vanderbilt (8–7, 3–1 American) Saturday morning at Howarth Field. Brooke Mazzei led the Owls with four goals, including a hat trick, while Sarah Gowman also recorded a hat trick.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Brooke Mazzei opened the scoring off a turnover, going coast-to-coast to give Temple an early lead. She added her second goal shortly after on a free-position attempt to make it 2–0. Amelia Wright extended the advantage to 3–0 with a goal assisted by Lexi Culp.
Gowman pushed the lead to four with a goal to open the second quarter. Vanderbilt got on the board with a goal from Molly Krestinski to cut the deficit to 4–1, but Gowman answered with her second goal of the game to extend Temple's lead back to four, 5–2, heading into halftime.
Gowman completed her hat trick early in the third quarter to give the Owls a 6–2 lead. Krestinski responded for the Commodores, but Mazzei and Sabrina Martin each added goals to extend Temple's advantage to 8–3 entering the final period.
Wright opened the fourth quarter scoring to push the lead to 9–3, and Mazzei added her fourth goal of the game late to secure the 10–4 victory.

The Owls will play their final road game of the regular season, traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina to face Charlotte. First draw is set for noon.
