Women’s Rowing Wins Points Trophy at 2026 Dad Vail Regatta

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Temple women's rowing finished an incredibly successful two days at the Dad Vail Regatta by claiming the Women's Points Trophy which signifies the best team performance at the regatta of all team boats. The Owls most recently took home the trophy in 2019, the second under Head Coach Rebecca Grzybowski.
Temple had four boats on the day finish on the podium, a true sign of how dominant the Owls were. The start off, coxswain Laney Borg led the second varsity four to a second-place finish. The Owls crossed the finish line in 8:09.16. Addison Kelly and the third varsity eight followed up that performance with a second-place finish of their own. They rowed at a 7:21.24 pace.
The team's gold medal performance belonged to coxswain Eve Keesecker and the second varsity eight. Temple finished in 6:49.96, almost three full seconds ahead of the second-place boat. Rounding out the podium finishes for Temple was the varsity eight boat coxswained by Sofia Henningsen. The sophomore led the Cherry & White to a second-place finish in a time of 6:36.99, only two seconds behind MIT.

Temple will next compete in the first ever Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships. The Owls will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. on Saturday, May 16 for the first ever women's rowing championships in the MAC. Temple along with Delaware, Eastern Michigan, High Point, UMass, and Toledo will compete in the championships hosted by EMU. Full lineups and schedules will be released later next week.
