COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Thursday that Temple University sophomore Lucia Magro was named to the NFHCA Collegiate Watch List.

To be nominated for the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, USAFH Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster). Please note that All-Rookie, All-Freshman Team, 'Honorable Mention' honors and Junior Nexus are not qualifying distinctions for Collegiate Watchlist selections.

Magro started all 18 games for the Owls last season, recording nine goals and two assists for 20 points, the most by a Temple freshman since 1987. She ranked fifth in the BIG EAST in goals per game and ninth in points per game. Magro became the first Owl to earn BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors and the first Temple player to receive a conference rookie of the year award since 2000. The Argentine native also earned NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team, ECAC Rookie of the Year and All-BIG EAST First Team honors following her impressive debut season.

Magro was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team earlier this month.

The Owls open its 2026 campaign at The Conference Cup in College Park, Md. The Owls face James Madison in the season opener on Friday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. before closing the tournament against host Maryland on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m.
